NEW HEALTH POLICIES

To Our AcuBalance Community,

We wanted to take a minute to update you on what we feel is the safest and most responsible course of action with regards to the novel Coronavirus (nCov, COVID-19) and it's official classification as a pandemic.

As you know, there has only been one documented case of COVID-19 in Louisville and this person has been discharged to complete isolation at home. This is good news, but for the sake of our patients and community, we feel it necessary to instate some temporary office policies. We must remember that while many of us are healthy enough that COVID-19 will not pose a serious risk, we must think of the greater good and those who are at high risk. Our clinic is a place of healing for healthy individuals and immuno-compromised individuals; the health of all our patients needs to remain a top priority.

We ask that you call or email us to reschedule your appointment if any of the following apply to you or someone in your household

  • You have traveled to China, Italy, Iran, South Korea, or Japan within the last 2 weeks

  • You have any symptoms of illness such as: fever, cough, shortness of breath, vomiting, severe sore throat, body aches, or any other signs of respiratory distress

  • You have recently come into contact with someone infected with COVID-19, influenza, or another serious contagious disease.

  • As always, if you begin to exhibit any signs of illness, contact your primary care provider for consultation. Numerous telehealth services are available if you are unable or do not wish to leave your home.

Further information on COVID-19 as it pertains to Kentucky can be found here: https://chfs.ky.gov/agencies/dph/pages/covid19.aspx

or via the COVID-19 Hotline 1-800-722-5725.

We are utilizing all reasonable measures to keep our office clean and we are following CDC guidelines on disinfection.

We ask that all entering patients follow posted instructions on hand washing.

Tissues are available in every room; please use them to cover any cough or sneeze.

In keeping with our approach health promotion, we recommend that everybody

  • Practice proper handwashing procedures

  • Practice social avoidance as recommended by local public health professionals

  • Stay hydrated & Get plenty of rest

  • Eat nutrient-rich, fresh foods. Foods abundant in Vitamins D, C, and Zinc are especially beneficial for immunity. A multi-vitamin is also a good idea.

  • Continue scheduled acupuncture appointments (if none of the above apply).

  • Contact us for herbal recommendations. These can be left outside the clinic for pickup or sent directly to your residence.

We are available via phone and email for any questions or for distance herbal consults at info@acubalanceky.com & 502-742-8613

Rest assured that we are taking the threat posed by nCoV seriously in a rational and balanced manner. We will keep you updated on any changes as the local situation progresses. Your health and safety are our top priorities.

Thank you, and be well! AcuBalance Acupuncture & Integrative Medicine
